The Kennedy Varsity Football team running towards the student section after winning their latest game against the Linn Mar Lions.

On Friday the 13th, under a full moon, two undefeated teams will take to the Kingston turf in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Kennedy Cougars will take on the #1 ranked West Des Moines Valley Tigers.

The Cougars have two wins this season against Cedar Rapids’ Jefferson J-Hawks and Marion’s Linn-Mar Lions. In total, the Cougars compiled 575 rushing yards and 79 passing yards and scored 67 points.

The Valley Tigers have a total of 334 rushing yards and 412 passing yards, and scored 60 points so far.

Both teams will need to keep the other team’s offense at bay.

“We’re gonna have to have some success throwing the ball,” Aaron Stecker, athletics director at Kennedy, said. “If we can do that, I think it’s gonna be a great ball game.”

JV will play at 5:30. Varsity prepares to play at 7:15.
