Game preview: Kennedy Vs. Linn-Mar

 

            Kennedy plays its first conference game since losing Morgan Martin to a knee injury. She suffered in a win against Dubuque Wahelrt. Kennedy played against Pleasant Valley and beat them 47-41. Junior Madi Meier currently averages 13 points a game for the Cougars. Senior Taylor Wagner stepped into the starting lineup in place of Martin on Saturday against Pleasant Valley.

 

            Linn-Mar currently sits at 2-2 on the season. Both of their losses came to teams in the top ten of the state. They took No.5 Iowa City West to overtime in their last game, but ended up losing 54-47. They also ended up losing to Muscatine 61-38. Senior Sara Strauel leads the team in scoring with 13 points a game and shoots a solid 59% from the field.

            KEYS TO THE GAME: Kennedy will need to keep up their stellar defense as they have only given up 39 points a game on the year. Linn-Mar needs to shoot better offensively, as a team they shoot 38 percent from the filed and only 25 percent from three point range. Kennedy needs to improve their free throw shooting as well; they have only shot 56 percent from the line.
