Game Preview: Girls Basketball

5A No.9 Kennedy (1-0) Vs. 4A No.9 Dubuque Wahlert (1-1).

Kennedy is coming off a 51-35 victory against Cedar Falls. Kennedy trailed 21-14 in the second half before they outscored Cedar Falls 37-14 in the second half. Kennedy was hot from three as they shot 8-16 three-point range. They shot an impressive 56% from the field overall.

Dubuque Wahlert currently sits at 1-1. Wahlert defeated Bettendorf 53-49 and lost to Iowa City West 58-40. Wahlert shoots a solid 50% from the field but only shoots around 30% from three-point range.

KEYS TO THE GAME: The biggest key to the game is to see how Wahlert defends Kennedy’s posts. Wahlert only has one player listed at 6 foot in their starting lineup where Kennedy has two players, Morgan Martin and Stephanie Botkin who are listed at above 6 foot in their starting lineup. Wahlert will most likely come out in a zone to try to combat their lack of size and Kennedy will have to remain hot from deep to attack it.
