Kennedy High School show choirs are preparing for their “Dessert Concert,” scheduled for January 13 featuring Protégé, Happiness and Moonlight. The event will showcase their entire competition show just four days before they compete at Linn Mar.
Kennedy is set to compete at Linn Mar High School on January 17th. Linn Marr’s event will be held in their new 1200 seat performance venue. Linn Mar Supernova is the first of five competitions Happiness will compete at in 2026.
“I never have assumptions on my students show, I believe every director thinks the show will go worse than expected and turns out much better. Same with the competitors against Happiness don’t matter. How we do our show doesn’t change based on who we are against, it’s our energy we put in the performance,“ Ziegler said.
Happiness will compete at several local high schools this season, including Linn-Mar Supernova, Prairie Premiere, Washington Mo Show and Liberty Storm the Stage and Indianola Ascension. Protégé will compete at the Linn Mar, Prairie, Washington, and Liberty.
“Going in with a lot of new members, I was nervous of the outcome. I am excited to see how they improve.” Ziegler said.
