Kennedy High School bowling has made changes to the season starting this 2025-2026. The girls season will continue on for two more weeks than the boys. One bowler who stands out is Elaina Chesmore. Chesmore will present her skills for one more season.
Bowling has been a generational sport in Chesmore’s family. Leading up to her senior season, Chesmore looks up to her dad as her biggest inspiration.
“Bowling has run in my family for a long time. I started when I was younger because my dad played the sport,” Chesmore said. “My biggest inspiration is my father, who pushes me to the best of my ability and makes sure I fulfill my goals.”
Another person who pushes Chesmore is her bowling coach Scott Bader, who has seen her willingness to embrace new challenges. This quality has been consistently seen throughout her time on the team.
“She is always willing to try what I’m asking her to try,” Bader said. ”It may not work for her, but she tries it and takes a lot of what I’ve talked with her about, skills, and tournaments to help make her a better and more accurate bowler.”
Bowling is not always fun and games, however making friends along the way improves the experience. That is exactly what the situation is for Chesmore.
“I like the community and the friendships I have built along the way,” Chesmore said.” I’ve made a lot of bonds with the coaches and with the girls for sure”
Chesmore plans to continue bowling at the collegiate level after this year. Her senior season will play a big part in determining where she will continue her bowling career at.
“I’m currently planning on bowling in college,”Chesmore said, ”I’m waiting to see how the season goes to confirm where I end up going.”
