Kennedy High School’s annual Trunk-or-Treat took place in the North lot on Oct. 12th, hosted by Student Government. The event was full of decorated car trunks and candy.
Staff, children and members of Best Buddies came from 12:00 to 1:00pm, followed by a 1:00 to 2:00 pm session for the general community. Each trunk was decorated and had candy for Trick-or-Treaters. Those who attended were encouraged to wear costumes and bring their Halloween spirit.
Other school clubs participated including Best Buddies, Happiness Inc., FCCLA, Cougar Bandana, as well as many girl’s sports. An estimated 20-25 trunks was scheduled to be there.
Trunk-or-Treat is by no means new to Kennedy, but this year was bigger than ever.
“Best Buddies does a small Trunk-or-Treat every year, and we wanted to salvage it this year,” Student Government member Addison Kellogg said. “The way that we could do that was to get Student Government involved and make it a bigger event.”
Freshman Saige Watts was optimistic about the Trunk-or-Treat’s local impact.
“The Trunk-or-Treat encourages the community to come together in order to give kids a better Halloween,” Watts said.
