With a current record of 0-10 this season, the varsity tennis team is showing marked improvement with every match played.
Rebecca Kolarczyk has coached the team for two years and has observed the consistent effort and dedication of the players.
“Our records may not show it, but the amount of work these girls put in really shows,” Kolarczyk said.
Coach Ethan Divis has coached tennis for three years. He highlights specific areas where the team has made progress.
“We’re hitting the ball at a good, sustained pace,” Divis said. “We’re staying in as many rallies as we can, which is a great sign of improvement for our team compared to where we were at the beginning of the season.”
Players are regularly encouraged to push themselves and improve every day.
“I encourage players often to challenge themselves to get better daily through competition, which helps players learn how to compete in matches as well,” said Kolarczyk.
Looking to the future, there is hope that the team’s ongoing commitment will lead to improvement.
“Hopefully, either at the end of the season or in the next one, they can see the fruits of their labor,” Kolarczyk said. “They can really appreciate it as they continue to improve.”
