The Road to The Well: Boys Basketball Punches their Ticket to State

Kennedy Boys’ Basketball team punched their ticket to state after a 76-48 win over North Scott on Tuesday, Feb. 28. The Cougars were led by senior Colby Dolphin with 18 points, junior Cyrus Courtney with nine rebounds and senior Kenzie Reed with eight rebounds. 

The Cougars earned their way into the 4A state bracket along with Ames, Ankeny Centennial, Pleasant Valley, Norwalk, Waukee, Waukee NW and West Des Moines Valley. Kennedy will play Pleasant Valley on Wednesday, Mar. 8 at 2 p.m. in Des Moines at the Wells Fargo Arena.

Wednesday, Mar. 8 will run on an early dismissal schedule. First bell rings at 7:50 a.m. and dismissal is at 11:05 a.m. This will give students who want to attend the game the opportunity to make the drive to Des Moines. Buses will be provided for students who do not want to drive themselves to Des Moines; buses will depart Kennedy at 11:25 a.m. Tickets will be available later this week and can be purchased online.
