Kennedy Boys’ Wrestling Approaches State With Three Competitors
Kennedy’s Boys’ Wrestling is sending three Cougars to the 2023 IHSSA’s state traditional tournament. From Feb. 15-18, junior Collin Falck, weighing in at 160 pounds, and seniors Asher Smith and Jordan Twitty, 220 and 182 pounds respectively, will represent Kennedy. The tournament will take place in the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
Smith has been wrestling for Kennedy since his freshman year. This season, he holds a record of 30-15. In the first round of the tournament on Wednesday, Feb. 15, he will take on Griffin Schultz, a junior from Linn-Mar who has a record of 24-16.
Twitty’s (17-24) first match is against Cohan Torres (33-13), a junior from North Polk. Falck (34-9) will first wrestle Alex Allen from LeMars (36-11).
