Boys’ Basketball Now Ranked First in the State
The Cougars are undefeated and ranked first in the Mississippi Valley Conference class 4A basketball after a 66-44 win over Dubuque Senior on Tuesday, Jan. 17 . The Kennedy Boys’ Basketball team is coming off six weeks of wins and a new school record.
The Cougars are led in points by senior and Kirkwood commit Colby Dolphin, averaging 15.4 points per game, junior Micah Schlaak with 6.7 rebounds per game and 6.6 assists per game from senior, four-year varsity member and Upper Iowa University commit Kenzie Reed.
The Cougars will be back in action at Kennedy on Friday, Jan. 19 to take on the Prairie Hawks in the second Prairie doubleheader of the season. Girls will play at 5:30 p.m. with the boys to follow at 7 p.m.
