Boy’s Cross Country placed eight at state meet over the weekend.

Boys’ Cross Country season came to a close on Saturday, Oct. 29 at the state meet. The 2022 season has brought with it many record breaking runs making this one of the best Kennedy seasons to date.

Cross Country finished in an impressive eighth place out of 26 schools, with a total of 201 points. Placing six points behind Iowa City High who placed seventh.

Senior Miles Wilson placed seventh individually running a 15:41.6 5k and earned a medal for his efforts. He also is ranked second in the Mississippi Valley Conference.

Kennedy had six out of their seven runners place in the top 112.

Boy’s Cross Country Coach, Brian Annis says this is the best season his team has ever had and he hopes to repeat it again next year.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re number one or number 40 in our team, everybody brings value,” said Annis.

The team plans to return next fall to put on another record breaking season.

“We were able to overcome many injuries and illnesses this season and were stronger because of it,” Annis said.
