With COVID-19, summer break may not look like it normally does for students. While it may not be normal, students will find ways to make their summer break worthwhile.

Activities such as fishing, camping, swimming, going on a picnic and more are available in Cedar Rapids. Iowa residents and nonresidents 16 years and older are required to have a valid fishing license to fish.

The Morgan Creek campground includes trails, streams and more. Students can explore, relax and spend time under the stars.

A great place to picnic would be Noelridge Park due to the open space around the playground. Noelridge also has a flower garden open to the public.

The pandemic should still be considered when taking part in any vacation activities. Whatever you decide to do, be cautious. Social distancing, wearing masks and sanitizing whenever possible are a few methods to stay safe.  The precautions may not be fun , but they exist to keep people safe.

Summer is a time for relaxation and fun, so enjoy it.
