Kennedy families got the tragic news Nov. 24 that teacher Rick Nees and his daughter, Nicole Nees, passed away in an accident in Ft. Collins, Colorado. The school held an open mic event Dec. 1, inviting all friends and families, to come celebrate Mr. Nees’s life. The Kennedy auditorium filled with students, staff, family members and many friends of Nees. Many tears and laughter were shared throughout the night. Former and current students shared their fondest memories of Nees, and there were many music performers and speakers throughout the night’s celebration.
