Girls on the swim team doing their team cheers at Sophomore Conference.

Tonight the undefeated Kennedy Women’s Swimming and Diving faces Pleasant Valley at Kennedy High School pool at 6 p.m.

Senior Reagan Linder is a varsity captain for Kennedy’s swim team and a returning state swimmer.

“We’re up against really good competition, one of the best teams in the state,” Linder said. “We have our best lineup going forward and I’m looking forward to seeing how the team fairs against such good competition and I think it’s going to bring out the best in people and some fast times.”

The season started with a win against Dubuque Senior on Aug. 21 (Varsity- 207-79 and JV 142-37) and their most recent meet on Aug. 28 against Waterloo (137-48).

“I think the team is a lot more unified this year than in years’ past and we have a big group of freshmen,” Linder said. “I feel like that really helps us in both the JV section and varsity section.”

The team is coached by Ivan Sanchez.
