Today during SMART Time students headed down towards the main gym for an opportunity to look at job openings.

Junior Lamin Secka was one among many kids at the job fair. “Well you know I was really interested in these jobs and what not, but like to be real I only came for the candy,” Secka said.

Meanwhile senior Jaeda Hernández was on the lookout for a job, “I am here because I’m poor and I’d like to make money.”

About 22 business booths filled up the gym, some including Price Electric, Hy-Vee, and Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation.

Angie Turner of the CR Parks and Rec department said that they offer all sorts for jobs for people all year round from youth sports to life guarding, with a wide variety of salaries. “We’d love for anyone to come work for us.”
