Kennedy Culture Club Hosts Culture Night
Laughter, nervousness and jolts of inspiration spring from the students of room 74A every Wednesday as they plan for Culture Club’s new event. On Feb. 17th at 5:30 p.m., the Culture Club will be hosting Culture Night. About a dozen students interested in traditions around the world will share their cultures.
The club focuses on planning and designing presentations, music, pictures and food from at least seven different countries.
“Right here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa we have all these different cultures and it’s pretty mind boggling when you stop and think about it,” said the club’s sponsor Julie Bradley.
Culture Night is showcasing countries such as Kenya, Japan, India and the Philippines. Despite this, they hope more will join.
“You know, we all have a culture. It doesn’t have to be from another country… dig back into your ancestors and find out what language your ancestors speak,” said Bradley.
Your donation will support the student journalists of Kennedy High School - IA. Your contribution will go towards the purchase of a new lens for our photographers.
