Students head into the conference building.

On Oct. 26, Kennedy journalism students from Profile yearbook and Torch media went to the Iowa High School Press Association’s Fall Conference. It was held at the Iowa Memorial Union on the University of Iowa campus. More than 800 students from around the state participated in the state conference this year. Students were invited to listen to speakers from professional media, attend informational sessions, tour the Iowa campus, and do other journalism related activities such as visiting the Adler journalism building, experiencing critiques of yearbook or news media entries, and participating in student contests. Kennedy students Tyler Blattner, Mady Kircher, Anafer Millsap, and Jamison Prull joined in this year’s IHSPA on-the-spot writing and photography contests.
