The men’s varsity golf team was victorious tonight at the Kennedy Nine Hole Invitational. The meet took place at Ellis Golf Course.

The Cougars took first place with a score of 162. Dubuque Wahlert placed second, West Dubuque was third, and Jefferson placed fourth. This was the golf team’s first victory of the season.

Leading golfers for Kennedy were Cameron Stump, sr., who shot a 37, Jake Corkery, jr., who shot a 40, and Jordan Weiss, sr., who shot a 41.

“This wasn’t one of our divisional meets, but every time that we are on the course matters,” Aaron Daughtee, sr., said, “We are always trying to better ourselves and improve.”

Daughtee shot a 48 for the Cougars.
“We learn new things every time we play,” Weiss said, “Every meet is another opportunity to improve it puts pressure on you as a player and that’s what you face at districts and state.”
