The search continues for a new softball coach

The search continues to find a new head softball coach at Kennedy High School. Activities Director Aaron Stecker explains that he has been talking to the softball parent support group about the hiring process.

“I am asking the parent support group what values and characteristics their looking for in a coach for their daughters this season,” Stecker said.

Teacher Katie Bova resigned from the head coach position this past year after six years of coaching softball at Kennedy.

The final decision is expected to be made sometime in mid to late September.

“I am looking for the best educated person to fill this position, they could have 20 years of experience or 3 years of experience,” Stecker stated.

It will be narrowed down to the final three to five applicants. They will then begin to be interviewed by a committee of people in order to make the final choice.

Once the position has been filled the search will begin again to fill the spots for assistant coaches.

“I want the new head coach to have a say in who they would like to work with this upcoming season,” Stecker said.

As the search continues Stecker hopes to begin reviewing the applicant pool by sometime next week.
