At Linn-Mar High School last Saturday, 14 marching bands met to compete for gold. Prairie High School took first place and Kennedy High School placed 3rd behind them. The Color Guard won 2nd place overall, Drumline Percussion won 4th place, and junior Charlotte Ottemoeller was awarded best Drum Major overall.

Though Linn-Mar’s competition left the band in high spirits, there is still plenty of work to be done. This Saturday, Oct. 2nd, the Cedar Rapids high schools are hosting the Five Seasons Marching Band Invitational at Kingston and going to the Prairie High School Invitational.
