The Kennedy Men’s golf team season of 2014 began with a swing. The varsity team started out the season with a 17 stroke win at the MVC Super Meet at the Gates Park Golf Course in Waterloo.

The Cougars defended their champion title with a four-under-par 284 led by Davis Sutton’s 7-under-par 65. Sutton, sr., was one shot away from tying the school record.

Seniors Ross Grekoff finished the meet with an even-par 72 and Cole Murdock carded a one-over 73. Conner Kodber rounded out the team’s scoring with a 3-over-par 74. Seth Nutt and Tanner Stewart completed the meet with 77 and 79.

Both the Varsity and JV team will play in meets on Monday.

The Varsity team will play in the Linn-Mar Invitational at Hunters Ridge Golf Course. The line-up will include Sutton, Grekoff, Murdock, Koberg, Nutt, and Stewart.  The meet begins at 1:30.

The JV team will play in an 8 a.m. meet at Gardner Golf Course. The JV team line-up will include Jake Corkery, Jordan Weiss, Bill Wilding, Parker Kalb, Parker Jacobson, Nathan Fisher, Aaron Daughetee, and Brant Barnhart.
