As the school year winds down, Kennedy Dance Team tryouts start up for the new 2025-2026 season. Tryouts were held in the West Gym from April 8 to 10. The dancers spent the first two days learning both a jazz and pom routine from graduating seniors Katelyn Anderson and Emma Olsen. On the third day, they performed both combos in front of two judges, who then determined the members of the team.
“I’m most excited to see how we grow and strengthen our bond as a team. Placing at state last season is definitely motivation going forward into this season to keep working hard and not give up,” junior Anyah Stopplemoor said.
With three new members and 11 returning members, this year’s team will be made up of 14 girls—four less than last year.
“I’m really excited to be in a new atmosphere, with people from different grades. Also doing halftime shows at football games, and competing,” incoming freshman, Molly Schultz says.
