Photos: Girls and Boys Soccer Sweep Washington
On April 13, the boys and girls Kennedy soccer teams went head-to-head with Cedar Rapids Washington at Kingston Stadium.
The Varsity Girls team shut out the Warriors 3-0. The Cougars were led in scoring by midfielder Janelle Minor, so., who put forward two goals, and midfielder Delaney Holtey, sr., with one goal. Goalkeeper Grace Hallam, fr., kept the Warriors from scoring, and picked up seven saves.
The Varsity boys team also shut out Washington with a 2-0 game. The team’s goals came from shots by midfielder Carter Newhouse, so., and forward AJ Corkery, jr. Goalie Tyler Miers, so., was responsible for keeping Washington at bay with six saves.
