October 14, 2019
A dark satirical comedy called Arsenic and Old Lace will be coming to the Kennedy black box.
The show directed by Caleb Marner will open on October 17 and play through the 19th with shows at 7pm. Tickets are $6 at the door.
Arsenic and Old Lace follows Moritmer Brewster who discovers his elderly aunts have something disturbing to hide. The play takes us on a whirlwind as we follow the two aunts who commit several murders, making Arsenic and Old Lace a hilarious dark comedy about murder.
“A strangely playful and funny play about murder and the importance of family with some even more ironic twists.” said, Josh Young, sr. who is playing the role of Moritmer Brewster.
This is the second dark comedy play that Kennedy theatre has done this Fall.
“I chose this show because of the comedic element, I very much enjoy comedy and physical comedy. It’s always been a strength of mine and so I wanted to choose a show that portrayed that and showcased that.” stated Marner.
Auditions for the Winter play Frozen Jr. will be on October 16 and 17.
