Sumner is quickly approaching for the students in the Cedar Rapids Community School District. The last day of classes is Friday, June 2.

Before the last day, students have to take finals. Finals will be held on Thursday, June 1 and Friday, June 2.

The schedule will be the same as last semester with periods 1-4 being on Thursday and periods 5-7 on Friday. Thursday will be a full day, releasing at 3, and Friday will be an early dismissal releasing at 1:30.

As the school year is winding down, the time comes where it is stressful for students and teachers.

Students are scrambling to keep their grades up and teachers have to make sure they enter all the grades.

Once the finals are taken and grades are submitted, summer break can officially begin.

“I’m looking forward to spending time with my personal children,” math teacher Jennifer McAtee said.
