After an undefeated regular season in 2015 that saw several school records shattered, a playoff appearance at the UNI-Dome for the first time in 20 years, and a 2nd place finish in the state tournament, Kennedy’s football team dropped their first two games of the 2016, falling to Muscatine and cross-town rival Washington.

However, it seems as if the Cougars (3-2) are back to their winning ways. The #Family is currently on a 3-game winning streak following the 77-13 blowout of Burlington (2-3) on Friday night for their first conference win. Kennedy has outscored their opponents 171-20 in the last three games, posting an average of  57 points in each of those games.

If anyone questioned how Kennedy would respond to losing their first two contests, they have their answer. With a record of 3-2 (1-0), Kennedy can still control its own destiny in their district and can still navigate their way to the state tournament, although it will take big wins over Linn Mar (2-3) (1-0), Iowa City West (3-1) (0-1), and Prairie (4-1) (1-0).

Prior to Friday night’s drubbing of the Greyhounds, Kennedy was ranked 17th in the state of Iowa. The Cougars are back in action this Friday (9/30) when they take on the Linn-Mar Lions (2-3), another cross-town team, in another conference game at 7:30 p.m. at Linn Mar Stadium.

With the Cougars rolling, it seems as if the #Family is back to being feared once

again.
