s the end of the school year nears, excitement builds for the class of 2023. With a little over eight weeks left until graduation, there are reminders and important dates seniors need to keep in mind through their final weeks of high school. The admin wants to remind seniors to keep trying and make the most of their last weeks as Cougars.

“I am very proud of you all, especially after all we have been through the last year! Let’s finish your senior year the right way!” said Principal Jason Kline. Check your email for the complete senior letter.

CPR Graduation Requirement

C

 

PR is a state requirement for graduation and cannot be waived by the school or district. To make sure your certification was sent in, check Infinite Campus by clicking Documents then Other. There will be one last chance for students to complete certification for free at school in April, check the announcements for the specific date. If students do not complete the certification at school, they have to pay for an outside CRR course.

Senior Recognition Night

S

 

enior Recognition Night will be held on Sunday, April 23 at 3 p.m. in the Main Gym. This is when seniors will receive their medals, awards and scholarships. Invitations will be mailed out in April to students who will be recognized. Seniors are asked to wear dress clothes to the event and those who receive scholarships are encouraged to send thank-you notes.

Senior Class Photo

he senior class photo will be taken on Monday, April 24 at 9:30 a.m. Senior Recognition Night group photos will also be taken at this time. All seniors are asked to be in attendance. Pictures can be purchased here using the password, KHS2223.

Senior Walk

O

 

ne last chance for seniors to walk through their elementary schools as K-12 students and say thank you to some of their first teachers. More information will be announced in May regarding exact dates and times for different schools, pay attention to the announcements. 

Prom

rom will be held Saturday, May 13. See the flyer in your school email for more information.

Chromebook Return

S

 

eniors must turn in their school-issued Chromebook and charger on either Tuesday, May 23, or Wednesday, May 24 between 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the fishbowl to the left of Athletic Director Aaron Stecker’s office. If you do not need your device in the last few days of class you can turn it in to Deb Baber in the Middle IMC before the designated time above. Students are reminded they are responsible for any damages and or the cost to replace the device if the computer or charger is not returned. 

Student Fines

ll outstanding balances must be paid Monday, May 22. Most fees can be paid with a debit or credit card on Infinite Campus through the parent portal or with cash, card or check through the bookkeeper’s office. Seniors are reminded that the school reserves the right to charge students for any textbooks or devices that are not turned in. Bills for these fines will be mailed to students. Last Day

inals for seniors will be on Tuesday, May 23 and Wednesday, May 24. The last official day for seniors will be Wednesday, May 24. Seniors are asked not to return to campus following the conclusion of the school day on May 24. 

Graduation Rehearsal

R

 

ehearsal will be held at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse on Friday, May 26, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Attendance at rehearsal is required for all students who plan to attend the ceremony, attendance will be taken. Seniors who do not attend rehearsal will not be allowed to walk at graduation. 

Commencement Ceremony

raduation will be held at the PowerHouse on Saturday, May 27 at 7 p.m. Doors will open for seniors at 6 p.m. Tickets are not required, however, tickets will be sold for reserved seats on the main floor. Photos of each graduate will be taken once they have received their diploma, those photos can be purchased here using the password, KHS2223.
