Kennedy alumn, Bailey Steinke was casted for a role in the current Theatre Cedar Rapids performance, Les Misérables. The Show will be staged June 20 to July 13, 2014; 7:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays.
This show is different from others because of the large number of people who auditioned for a role. Around 300 showed up for auditions and only 37 were casted for roles.
“I was shocked when I saw my name on the cast list for Les Misérables and nothing could have prepared me for seeing my name,” Bailey Steinke said.
Steinke is currently attending Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, in Winona Minnesota. There, she is majoring in Musical Theatre with a minor in Marketing.
“An international hit, Les Misérables is the story of Jean Valjean and his fight for redemption and peace. It has a backdrop of the French Revolution. It is one of my favorite shows and I absolutely can’t wait,” Steinke said.
Steinke has a long resume in the theatre and will bring her experience with her as she prepares for this role.
