Kennedy Girls’ Wrestling Sends Two to State
Kennedy Girls’ Wrestling is competing at state Thursday, Feb. 2 and Friday, Feb. 3. Qualifying wrestlers go up against over 100 schools to take home the first sanctioned girls’ wrestling state championship in Iowa.
Senior Jacie Bedell at 135 lb and Sophomore Ella Brown at 190 lb are representing Kennedy at the meet. Bedell has gone 17-9 with 16 pins this season and Brown 29-1 with 25 pins.
“They both work extremely hard, they’re really good kids and you really couldn’t ask for more as far as what you want out of an athlete,” girls’ wrestling coach Craig Mallicoat said.
The girls are at the Xtreme Arena in Coralville and you can watch them on the IAWrestle website, linked here!
