Kennedy volleyball achieves second victory against Washington in a week

Kennedy’s volleyball team played their way to victory against the Washington Warriors in three straight games, scoring 25-19, 25-7, and 25-9. This victory came on Monday, Oct. 27, after a victory against the Warriors the previous Tuesday.

This victory qualifies them for a game against Linn-Mar at Linn-Mar on Thursday, the winner of which will advance on to the next game on Tuesday, Nov. 3 against the winner of Des Moines Roosevelt vs. Dowling in Newton.

Kennedy’s head coach Michelle Goodall commented on the strengths and struggles the team will face when playing Linn-Mar on Thursday.

“[Our biggest strength] is confidence right now,” Goodall said, “the kids are playing pretty high level ball. Serving is very strong right now and I really like what we’re doing with the offense. It’s kind of diversified.”

Speaking of challenges they will likely face at Linn-Mar, Goodall said: “Lin-Mar is crafty. They’ve got two really strong right side setters who are crafty.”
