Duane Wampole has been named the new girls track coach at Kennedy High School.

Wampole will be succeeding Mark Jensen, science teacher at Kennedy, as head track coach.

Wampole has been a member of the Cedar Rapids Track Club since 2009.

Throughout his time with the club, he has served as president , head coach and manager of the program.

Wampole is a Level 1 certified coach with the USATF.

The final decision is still pending formal school board approval.
